Today, I received another “your request is not timely” when I tried to certify for my unemployment check. This is ridiculous. I was laid off on November 13 and have not received any of the monies due to me.

I feel your pain.
I was laid off the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I was only given 2 weeks severance and with a 4 to 6 week waiting period for unemployment in Rhode Island, how am I supposed to feed my 2 small children with no income?
This totally sucks.

No, I feel your pain. Barack Obama has a huge national problem to fix. Did you see today where the laid off employees took over a plant in Chicago because their severance and vacation monies were delayed? I’m fairly liberal, but I’m furious with the bailouts. Who will bail us out?

lol, yah who will bail us out. My state (Rhode Island) is sure taking it’s time.
I can’t believe the company in Chicago is trying to get away with that. At least I got severance…but that ended last week and who knows when the unemployment check will come in.
I’ve worked hard all my life and never took anything from anybody. Paid my taxes, etc… and know when I need help, know one is there.
The management at Rhode Island unemployment should be laid off and forced to go through the system!!
I wish you well, and try to enjoy the Holidays.
Sincerely,
John

This is ridiculous I have been receiving unemployment since July. I recently applied for an extension and was approved. Said the check was mailed on Jan 4th and gave me how much was remaining on claim. Where is the check? What is this site for I want to know what to do about my missing check

Eve, this is my personal weblog. Do you live in Tennessee? We do. I did without an unemployment check for 5 weeks. My husband did without his for 8 weeks. He just got his straightened out. Get on the phone and stay on them.
